Aid Station is Australia’s go-to online store for sports nutrition, supporting endurance athletes and active individuals in achieving their goals. Whether you’re training for your first race or competing at a professional level, we make nutrition simple so athletes can focus on performance.
Founded three years ago, Aid Station is a fast-growing startup with a passionate and supportive team. We believe in fostering a positive workplace where employees can develop professionally and thrive in a dynamic, energetic environment.
The Opportunity
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Buyer & Merchandiser to join our growing team. This is a fantastic role for someone early in their career who’s eager to learn and grow in the buying and merchandising space.
You’ll be directly mentored by our founder, who currently leads this area. This is a rare opportunity to learn from someone with deep industry knowledge while playing a key role in shaping our product offering and driving growth.
If you’re passionate about sports, retail, and product strategy — and excited by the idea of working in a fast-paced, supportive environment — this could be the perfect next step in your career.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assisting in developing buying strategies to enhance product assortment and vendor relationships.
- Helping to analyse market trends and customer preferences to identify product opportunities.
- Supporting the negotiation of terms, pricing, and contracts with suppliers.
- Collaborating with marketing and sales teams to create compelling product presentations and promotions.
- Monitoring inventory levels and managing stock replenishment to minimise stockouts and overstock situations.
- Assisting in reviewing product performance and making recommendations for improvements.
- Coordinating with the warehouse team to ensure timely and efficient product deliveries.
What We’re Looking For
We’re looking for someone with 1–2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or retail who’s ready to take the next step in their career. This is an excellent opportunity for someone who has gained foundational experience and is looking to deepen their expertise.
We’d love to hear from you if you have:
- 1–2 years of experience in buying, merchandising, or retail, preferably in a fast-moving consumer goods (FMCG) or e-commerce environment.
- Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret data and market trends to make informed buying decisions.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills, with the confidence to negotiate with suppliers and collaborate with internal teams.
- Strong organisational and time management abilities, with a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- A collaborative mindset — you thrive working as part of a team and are eager to learn from others.
- Familiarity with project management tools like Google Calendar and Monday.com (a plus, but not essential).
Why Join Aid Station?
- Be part of an innovative and fast-growing startup
- A supportive and dynamic work environment where you’ll be mentored by our founder.
- Opportunities for professional development - A genuine opportunity to grow your career in buying and merchandising.
- Generous team member discount on product
If you're ready to take the next step in your career and be part of a passionate, growing team, we’d love to hear from you. Please submit your resume and a cover letter telling us why you’d be a great fit for Aid Station.
