About the role

We are looking for a creative and enthusiastic Assistant Archives and Media Officer to join our team at Akeyulerre Aboriginal Corporation in Mparntwe (Alice Springs), NT. This part-time position will support our digital storytelling, media documentation and communications efforts, helping share the important cultural work happening across our organisation.

This is an Aboriginal-identified role, prioritised for Aboriginal and/or Torres Strait Islander applicants.

What you’ll be doing

• Assisting with the creation of content for our social media platforms, website, and publications
• Supporting the documentation of cultural projects through photography, video, and graphic design
• Helping maintain and update our website and digital archives
• Working with staff, Elders and community members to ensure digital content aligns with cultural values
• Participating in community events and on-country trips to document and promote activities
• Supporting media-related administration, including preparing reports and storing digital content
• Providing general communications and office support as needed

What we’re looking for

• A strong interest in Aboriginal culture, digital media, and community storytelling
• Experience with social media, photography, video editing or graphic design
• Basic knowledge of website platforms (e.g. WordPress) or willingness to learn
• Good communication and teamwork skills
• A respectful and culturally sensitive approach to working with Aboriginal communities
• Ability to stay organised, meet deadlines and follow through on tasks
• Local knowledge and/or connection to community would be highly regarded
