  • Remuneration: $158,080 to $165,606 pa (HEW9) (inclusive of $133,579 to $139,939 salary pa, 17% superannuation and 17.5% recreation leave loading)

Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a Senior Consultant, Equity Services to join Equity, People Services, Administrative Division.

As the Senior Consultant, Equity Services, you will play a pivotal role in advancing our commitment to diversity and inclusivity and addressing barriers to equity groups. You will provide leadership in the design, delivery, and implementation of various programs and initiatives, ensuring alignment with our equity strategic priorities and plans. A key priority for the position in 2025 will be the development of the QUT Equity Framework. Additionally, you will provide strategic guidance and policy advice, typically to senior leaders. Through data analysis, monitoring and reporting, you will identify areas for improvement and track progress towards diversity and inclusion goals. Your ability to cultivate and maintain strategic partnerships both internally and externally will be crucial in fostering a culture of inclusivity. Moreover, your advocacy efforts will influence decision-making processes and raise awareness of diversity-related issues across all levels of the university and both our staff and student community.

What you need to succeed

  1. Education, training and/or experience equivalent to postgraduate qualifications with extensive relevant experience in the field of equity, diversity and inclusion.
  2. Proven experience in building and maintaining effective relationships with diverse stakeholders, internally and externally and at varying levels of seniority, while demonstrating leadership to achieve shared goals.
  3. Excellent influence and advocacy skills with the ability to positively impact decision-making, through raising awareness, strategic guidance and policy advice, to lead systemic change within large organisations.
  4. Advanced problem solving and analytical skills, coupled with demonstrated experience in preparing submissions, reports and presentations for senior leaders, committees and governing bodies.
  5. Proven expertise in designing and delivering equity, diversity and inclusion programs or initiatives, including the facilitation of training and workshops, with a focus on outcomes, strong participant engagement, evaluation and continuous improvement.
  6. Sound knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in equity and diversity, with demonstrated experience in developing, reviewing, and implementing equity-related policies and frameworks.
