We are seeking a Senior Lecturer / Associate Professor to join School of Nursing, Faculty of Health.

QUT Nursing is seeking a visionary nursing academic dedicated to shaping the future of healthcare education and driving transformative research. As a Senior Lecturer (Level C) / Associate Professor (Level D), you will play a crucial role in delivering cutting-edge nursing courses designed to prepare our graduates for the evolving healthcare landscape. Your contributions will be instrumental in achieving our ambitious, future-focused agenda through creative innovation in learning and teaching, impactful research, and the effective integration of technology to achieve excellence in education and research outcomes.

What you need to succeed

Senior Lecturer (Level C)

  1. Completion of a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline area or equivalent accreditation or standing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority plus additional certification required for ongoing clinical practice or clinical supervision (Blue Card, CPR, first aid, and full vaccination including an approved COVID19 vaccine).
  2. Demonstrated experience in providing leadership in an administrative role in a University or professional setting and record of successful interaction within these settings.
  3. Record of experience in teaching effectively including the ability to develop scholarly and learning and to supervise postgraduate students.
  4. Record of research leadership and/or independent contribution to research/scholarship evidenced by publications and/or success in attracting research support.
  5. Demonstrated experience in mental health nursing practice and education, cultural safety, and/or experience in practice and education related to another clinical specialty.
  6. Demonstrated ability to develop networks and to liaise at a high level with members of external organisations.

Associate Professor (Level D)

  1. Completion of a doctoral qualification in the relevant discipline area or equivalent accreditation or standing and current registration as a Registered Nurse with the Australian Health Practitioner Registration Authority plus additional certification required for ongoing clinical practice or clinical supervision (Blue Card, CPR, first aid, and full vaccination including an approved COVID19 vaccine).
  2. Record of significant experience in providing leadership in an administrative role in a University or professional setting and record of successful interaction within these settings.
  3. Outstanding record of teaching and learning experience designing and implementing and evaluating new curricula, and effective students engagement across under-graduate and postgraduate courses Record of research leadership and/or independent contribution to research/scholarship evidenced by publications and/or success in attracting research support.
  4. Demonstrated success at experience in mental health nursing practice and education, cultural safety, and/or experience in practice and education related to another clinical specialty.
  5. Demonstrated success in establishing and maintaining collaborative networks that extend best practice, implement leading solutions and realise new opportunities
