The Role:
As the Payroll Manager, you will be responsible for overseeing and managing end-to-end payroll operations across multiple sites. You will look to ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, maintain compliance with all relevant regulations, and play a key role in payroll system enhancements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and oversee all payroll functions, including final approvals, audits, and compliance.
- Supervise payroll processing for weekly, fortnightly, and monthly pay cycles.
- Ensure accurate interpretation and application of EBAs, awards, and payroll-related legislation.
- Oversee payroll tax submissions, superannuation contributions, and other statutory requirements.
- Drive payroll system improvements and automation projects to enhance efficiency.
- Lead a small payroll team, providing mentoring and professional development.
- Act as a key point of contact for payroll inquiries from employees and management.
- Ensure seamless integration between payroll, HR, and finance systems.
- Conduct payroll audits to maintain accuracy and compliance.

What We’re Looking For:
- Payroll management experience ideally in a construction or consultancy environment.
- Strong knowledge of EBA interpretation, payroll legislation, and compliance.
- Proficiency in payroll software and Microsoft Office Suite (experience with WIISE payroll is a plus).
- Exceptional attention to detail with the ability to handle large-volume payroll.
- Strong leadership skills with a collaborative and solution-focused mindset.
- Experience managing payroll projects to improve efficiency and processes.
- Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
