FourQuarters is delighted to be partnering with a growing, medium-sized financial services business based in Melbourne’s inner city.
With a strong market presence and continued expansion, they are seeking an experienced Payroll Manager to lead their payroll function. This newly created role will oversee payroll operations for up to 1,200 employees across Australia and manage a small payroll team. The organisation is looking for a driven and knowledgeable payroll professional to streamline processes and drive efficiency.
Job Duties
Reporting to the senior stakeholders within the business, this role involves taking full ownership of the payroll function, with key responsibilities including:
- Leading, mentoring, and developing a small payroll team in Australia
- Managing end-to-end payroll processes with accuracy and efficiency
- Overseeing different pay cycles for circa 1,200 employees
- Driving process improvements and implementing best practices
- Accurately working under the Banking, Finance & Insurance Award
- Reconciling payroll accounts and preparing reports as required
- Ensuring compliance with all relevant payroll legislation and regulations
- Partnering with key internal and external stakeholders to enhance payroll operations
- Utilising and optimising payroll systems, with a preference for iChris
Candidate Profile
The ideal candidate will have proven leadership experience in a Payroll Manager role, along with the following skills and attributes:
- Strong leadership and stakeholder management abilities
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to interpret awards with precision
- Comprehensive knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and tax regulations
- Strong analytical skills with a proactive and solutions-focused mindset
- A passion for mentoring and developing staff to enhance performance and engagement
- Prior experience working with the iChris payroll system is highly desirable
