Well-capitalised VC backed start-up seeks extremely talented Software Engineer (Frontend) to build the leading AI agent workforce for healthcare and the broader care economy.

Minikai is building the AI agent workforce for the disability and aged care sectors. Our AI agents, called Minis, carry out time-consuming admin and compliance workflows to free up carers to spend more time delivering care. We take an AI-first approach, designing software that enables AI to handle workflows and generate UI based on context, while pushing the boundaries of high standards of design, usability, and accessibility.

The role

We’re looking for a Software Engineer (Frontend) to help build AI-powered

interfaces that feel intuitive, fast, and accessible. You’ll work closely with our

product team to develop web and mobile applications that set a new standard for

usability in the care sector.

What you’ll do

● Build and maintain high-performance frontends using React (Next.js) and

React Native.

● Integrate AI-powered agents via the Vercel AI SDK to create context-aware,

generative UIs.

● Optimise for real-time interactions, including speech-to-speech interfaces

and live transcription.

● Ensure accessibility (WCAG compliance), responsiveness, and UX best practices are embedded in everything we build.

● Implement frontend best practices, including performance optimisations,

state management, and API integrations.

● Contribute to our Design System, ensuring UI consistency and scalability

across the platform.

Who you are

● Strong experience with React, Next.js, and React Native in production

environments.

● A solid understanding of UX, accessibility, and responsive UI design.

● Familiarity with real-time audio processing and WebRTC (or a willingness to

learn).

● Comfortable working with LLMs and AI-powered UIs (experience with the

Vercel AI SDK is a plus).

● Proficient with modern frontend tooling (e.g., TypeScript, Tailwind CSS,

Zustand/Recoil, WebSockets).

● Experience in microservices-based architectures.

● Knowledge of DevSecOps, CI/CD, and performance optimisation for

frontend applications.

Bonus points

● Experience building AI-driven workflows or generative UI components.

● Familiarity with Azure cloud infrastructure.

● Contributions to open-source projects in frontend or AI.

● Experience in regulated industries (healthcare, aged care, disability

support).
