An expression of Interest (EOI) is being sought for an experienced qualified Caseworker /Health Promotion officer 4 days per week at our Fairfield Women’s Health Centre located in Cabramatta and Fairfield.
Bankstown Women’s Health Centre is looking for a dedicated case worker and Health promotion officer to work with women residing in the Fairfield Local Government Area. This is an exciting role for someone qualified and experienced.
Salary package in accordance with Social, Community, Home Care and Disability industrial awards 2010 (SCHCADS) dependent on qualifications and experience.
Under Sec31 (2) of the Anti-Discrimination Act to be a woman is a genuine occupational requirement for this position.
Only applicants who address all essential criteria, desirable criteria and provide a current resume will be considered for the position.
The successful applicant will be able to demonstrate the following essential criteria:
- Demonstrated knowledge and experience in Intake, Assessments, Screening, and referrals and
- Experienced in casework supporting women who have experienced domestic violence.
- Excellent communication skills
- Demonstrated skills and knowledge in case notes, working in intervention, family support, Women’s Health issues
- Computer software applications, and data bases.
- Understanding of WHS practices
- Relevant tertiary qualifications/ or relevant experience in the field
- Demonstrated experience in Community Development or other community work
- Demonstrated experience in working in the NGO sector, and community services work
- Knowledge of women’s issues, particularly those which relate to domestic violence, trauma and Women’s Issues
- Proven organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work independently and with minimal supervision
- Commitment and capacity to implement quality management principles
- Demonstrated ability to work as a team
- Demonstrated experience in working with CALD populations
- Commitment to feminist philosophy and principles
- Demonstrated experience delivering information sessions and group work
Desirable Criteria:
- Bi lingual, Arabic speaking or Vietnamese speaking
- Knowledge of the Fairfield LGA and Services
- Demonstrated experience advocating for clients
A Working with Children Check and Criminal Record Check will be required for the successful applicant.
