About the role
This part-time Health Promotions Officer role is an exciting opportunity to make a real difference in the lives of cancer patients. Based in Hurstville, NSW, you will work to develop and deliver the Foundations' new “Wellness Workshops” and raise awareness, foster community engagement and improve patient access to fitness, nutrition and practical, one-to-one support.

This position will work to

• Improve awareness of key health & wellbeing issues for patients & carers;
• Develop and run a regular, in-class Cancer Fitness program;
• Engage patients, support groups and promote the Foundation
• Building relationships with local community, and health and fitness providers

You will work to:

• Develop and deliver a program of Wellness Workshops, online & person, to support patients and their carers;
• Promote the Wellness Workshops through presentations, media, community groups, business forums or patient-support group meetings;
• Promote Wellness Workshops to cancer patients to register, for either in-class or remote sessions;
• Promote PBCF & develop relationships with local health & community services
• Support group facilitators and trainers, maintaining project documentation, and monitoring to ensure outcomes are achieved
• Measure & report performance on KPI’s

What we're looking for

• Strong interpersonal communication skills
• Project management experience, in the ability to plan, execute, and evaluate campaigns and programs
• Familiarity or experience in health, cancer care & supportive care
• Demonstrable interest in social justice and health equity
• Organisational, presentation, training & self-management skills
• Ability to travel locally & interstate as required
