Government client seeks an experienced Events Coordinator to support the delivery of key events and coordinate major stakeholder meetings

Events Coordinator opportunity

  • Approx. $55-$65 per hour plus Super dependent on experience
  • Assignment duration is up to 3 months. Early April Start
  • Melbourne CBD location

About the role

Government department seeks an experienced Events Coordinator to join them on short-term assignment for a duration of up to a period of 3 months based in Melbourne CBD. As the Events Coordinator, you will support the delivery of major events and produce communication collateral for the division.

Reporting to the Senior Events Officer, you will be responsible for the end-to-end delivery of events, including procuring services to support the event, drafting, and coordinating communications and promotional requirements of events, preparing event briefings, coordinating stakeholder management and supports staff and suppliers to ensure that events are delivered successfully and within budget.

Key Accountabilities

Key tasks and responsibilities will include:

  • Building and supporting relationships with internal and external department stakeholders
  • Supporting procurement, logistics and overseeing contractors/suppliers related to the delivery of major events
  • Continuous improvement of processes and documentation
  • Evaluation and planning at the conclusion of major events
  • Corresponding with key stakeholders
  • Support and coordination of exhibitors and attendees
  • On-day conference/expo support and management

Key Selection Criteria

The skills and experience you will need to demonstrate include:

  • Producing events specifically in the Government sector. Large-scale conferences and expo, high profile, public facing key government stakeholder events.
  • Successfully managing project plans, goods and services procurement and event budgets to ensure events are delivered within allocated financial parameters and project deadlines.
  • Liaising in a positive, collaborative, and supportive manner with the full spectrum of internal staff, external service providers and key department stakeholders from concept to delivery of events.

Qualifications

  • Tertiary Qualifications or relevant skills and experience in Events/Conferences Management or equivalent discipline.
