As a result of considerable business growth Nuriootpa Traders are seeking a motivated individual to join our Operations team based at our Nuriootpa office. We are seeking a well organised person to assist with the daily scheduling and allocating of loads on trucks within the local transport side of the business.
Knowledge and Skills Required:
- Transport knowledge and or experience.
- Transport Operations experience preferred.
- Forklift licence.
- Ability to manage time effectively and autonomously.
- Strong customer service skills.
- Ability to make quick decisions.
- Good problem solving skills.
- Strong attitude towards safety.
Responsibilities:
To be a key point of contact and organise a number of local trucks and drivers on a daily basis, this includes but is not limited to:
- Each day ensure all loads are covered and planned in a way so that all required time slots are met.
- Communicate daily with our drivers to ensure compliance and customer expectations are met.
- Assist the Admin team where necessary with any information required to ensure all consignment and manifest information is entered correctly into our TMS.
- Performance manage some aspects of the drivers in the event he / she is not performing, but management will assist here if it is anything serious.
- At times take calls after hours from drivers when needed - this only when there is an issue.
- Ensure that trucks and loads are scheduled for the best efficiency.
Other Tasks:
- Ensure that all staff and drivers operate within legislative requirements and those safety requirements of the business
- Continue to develop ongoing relationships with our customers.
- Ensure all operational spread sheets for your department including registers and databases are maintained and kept up to date.
- Ensure there is continuing improvement in overall service levels to our customers.
- Contribute to the development of our safety management system to achieve positive OHS outcomes and to promote and establish a culture of safety to all staff.
- Encourage safe work practices and feedback on all safety related issues and follow up on any incidents.
- Attend client review meetings if and when required (usually via Teams meetings these days).
