Description
The Operations Manager – Victoria is responsible for overseeing the efficient and effective operations of multiple campus sites across the region. This role ensures that operational processes run smoothly, resources are allocated effectively, and teams are empowered to deliver high-quality services that align with Contour’s mission to reshape education, one student at a time.
The Operations Manager acts as a leader for campus-based team leaders and their teams, ensuring consistency in service delivery, compliance, and operational excellence across all locations.
Who are we
We empower students and their studies by providing an ecosystem of highly effective tutoring, resources and support. We run weekly small-group tutoring sessions, presented by young and experienced tutors that teach in a simple, intuitive and engaging way. We also supplement these sessions with weekly workshops, complimentary 1-on-1 support and a learning portal with a comprehensive suite of resources and practice material to help students master their subjects.

What you'll do
Multi-Site Operational Leadership
- Oversee daily operations across multiple locations, ensuring seamless service delivery.
- Implement standardised operational processes across all sites to maintain efficiency and quality.
- Lead and support Campus Team Leaders and frontline teams to ensure high performance and operational excellence.
Resource & Workforce Management
- Ensure appropriate staffing levels, resource allocation, and scheduling to meet operational needs.
- Work closely with People & Culture to support recruitment, onboarding, and ongoing staff development.
- Monitor workforce planning and team productivity to optimise performance.
Compliance & Risk Management
- Ensure all sites adhere to regulatory, safety, and compliance standards.
- Identify and mitigate operational risks through proactive planning and issue resolution.
- Drive a culture of safety and accountability across all locations.
Process Improvement & Efficiency
- Identify opportunities to streamline workflows and enhance operational efficiency.
- Implement best practices and standard operating procedures across sites.
- Leverage data and analytics to drive decision-making and performance improvements.
Stakeholder & Vendor Management
- Collaborate with internal teams (Operations, People & Culture, Sales, Program Success, Tutoring, & Marketing) to ensure operational alignment.
- Manage relationships with external vendors, landlords, and service providers to support site operations.
- Act as a key escalation point for operational issues, ensuring swift and effective resolution.
Culture & Team Leadership
- Foster a high-performing, customer-focused culture across all locations.
- Provide coaching and mentorship to Campus Team Leaders and frontline teams.
- Ensure that Contour’s Core Service Values and Team Values are embedded across all operations.

Experience Requirements
🎓 Bachelor's Degree (or higher) in business, business administration, commerce or similar.
🕒 3+ years of multi-site operational leadership in a fast-paced environment. (Ideally suited to those who enjoy start-up and scale-up businesses - will consider those from service-oriented retail or hospitality leadership roles too)

- Full Academic Year Commitment (e.g. no overseas exchange trips for 8 weeks)

- Sign an NDA (e.g. can't distribute our resources/company info to others)
- Agree to a non-compete clause (e.g. you can't tutor student groups for others!)
- Ability to Commit to Weekly Classes (e.g. can't constantly reschedule or miss classes)
- Travel to our Locations (e.g. Glen Waverley, CBD or Box Hill)
- Genuine Desire to Motivate Students (e.g. your primary goal is to help students achieve their potential, like us!)
- Past VCE Graduate (we still accept applications from non-VCE graduates, just it helps!)
