About the project

Our Federal Government client is undergoing a major period of transformation with significant legislative reforms recently passed by Parliament. These reforms will extend Australia's existing anti-money laundering and counter-terrorism financing legislation to include certain high-risk services, also known as tranche 2 entities. This includes designated services provided by lawyers, accountants, trust and company service providers, real estate agents, and dealers in precious metals and stones.

Key duties and responsibilities

  • Lead the content refresh of our Government clients website, ensuring all content is user-centered, plain language, and aligned with government standards.
  • Audit, review, and rewrite existing content to improve readability, accessibility, and usability, as well as develop new content as required.
  • Apply content design principles, including structured content, information hierarchy, and consistent tone of voice.
  • Contribute to the development of a multi-channel content strategy which will set the direction for content, technology and information architecture enhancements for the website based on user journeys, user research and testing.
  • Work with subject matter experts to translate complex information into clear, concise, and accessible content.
  • Ensure all content meets readability standards, WCAG accessibility requirements and is optimised for digital channels.
  • Publish content to the content management system (GovCMS SaaS) and manage content migration to the enhanced website. Contribute to content governance, style guides, and best practices to maintain content quality. Report regularly to the Digital Project Manager (or other stakeholders as part of the project)

Skills:

  • Proven experience in content design, digital content management or content strategy in a government or complex organisational setting.
  • Understanding of the Digital Service Standard, Australian Government Style Manual, and WCAG.
  • Experience delivering content refresh or content migration projects.
  • Ability to analyse and restructure content to improve clarity, usability, and engagement.
  • Experience collaborating in agile, multidisciplinary teams and working with stakeholders on content projects.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
  • Experience with analysing website analytics and content performance to identify improvements and report to senior executives.
  • Proficiency in digital publishing (GovCMS/Drupal experience preferred but not essential).
