You are a motivated and experienced Registered Nurse with a strong background in quality care, education, and compliance within the aged care sector. Your proven track record in clinical care, training, and auditing, combined with your excellent analytical skills and deep understanding of accreditation standards, makes you a perfect fit for this role. Key Responsibilities

Quality Oversight and Compliance

  • Apply a quality framework and continuous improvement model to lead initiatives that enhance care and service delivery.
  • Coordinate and oversee quality activities in collaboration with senior staff to ensure compliance with policies, processes, and regulatory requirements, including infection control standards.
  • Develop and manage audits and online surveys to monitor quality standards and compliance.
  • Conduct internal audits and create detailed improvement plans to address non-conformities, ensuring corrective actions are taken promptly.
  • Prepare the team for accreditation audits and compliance visits, ensuring readiness and successful outcomes.
  • Monitor and analyse performance data to identify trends, gaps, and improvement areas, driving initiatives to address these.
  • Ensure the accuracy and timely submission of NACMQIP data for government reports.

Education and Training

  • Promote ongoing professional development by coordinating innovative clinical and non-clinical education programs.
  • Manage the education calendar, identify external training opportunities, and ensure all staff receive appropriate support during orientation.
  • Assist in achieving 100% compliance with mandatory training, including organising monthly orientation days for new employees.
  • Develop, deliver, and assess clinical education programs, including competency assessments and skills evaluations.
  • Continuously identify training needs based on audits, KPIs, and feedback, ensuring staff are equipped with the skills required for their roles.

Policy and Process Development

  • Review, develop, and maintain organisational policies and procedures to ensure compliance with quality and regulatory standards.
  • Provide guidance and advice to staff on policy changes and compliance with Aged Care Quality Standards.

Academic Qualifications

Essential:

  • Current registration with the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) as a Registered Nurse.
  • Certificate IV in Training and Assessment.
  • National Police Check.

Desirable:

  • ACIPC Foundations of Infection Prevention and Control or higher.
  • Postgraduate qualification in quality or risk management.
  • Auditing qualification.

Work Experience and Skills

Essential:

  • Proven experience in overseeing compliance with legislative and regulatory standards, including conducting audits.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage quality frameworks and coordinate education and training programs.
  • Experience in reporting against KPIs and performance targets.
  • Strong decision-making, problem-solving, and attention to detail.
  • Excellent communication and engagement skills, with the ability to foster collaborative relationships with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and relevant software.

Desirable:

  • Extensive experience in aged care and aged care accreditation.
  • Experience with the ACQSC accreditation process.
