About the role

Advocate Medical Group (AMG), a GP-owned group of four general practices in south-east Melbourne, is seeking an experienced General Practice Operations Manager to lead our Practice Managers in the day-to-day management and operations of the group. You will report to Director and be responsible for implementing practices and policies to ensure AMG maintains the delivery of high quality health care to the community and a positive, family-like culture for staff to thrive. You will oversee about 40 staff and support about 30 general practitioners who operate independently from our centres. This is a full-time position.

What you'll be doing

• Oversee the daily operations of multiple clinics, ensuring operational efficiency.
• Human Resources leadership including recruitment, staff development and performance management, team building and delegation
• Administer payroll to ensure all obligations to staff and the business are met
• Business goal development and improving business performance
• Analyse practice data and KPIs to identify areas for improvement and make data-driven decisions
• Maintain and control debtors, creditors and the general ledger and liaise with external accounting staff as required
• Ensure compliance with healthcare regulations and standards across clinics

What we're looking for

Essential

• Minimum 3 years of experience in a leadership role within a healthcare or multi-medical practice setting
• Proven track record of successfully managing the operations of a busy general practice
• Strong understanding of healthcare regulations, compliance requirements, and industry best practices
• Excellent problem-solving, decision-making, and critical thinking skills
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities, with the ability to effectively lead and support staff with narrow skill sets.
• Strong writing and verbal skills
• Demonstrated leadership skills and the ability to motivate and develop a team
• In this highly autonomous role, you will be a self-starter, trouble-shooter and problem-solver in keeping with your entrepreneurial mindset.
• Willingness to travel to each medical centre located in Box Hill, Endeavour Hills, Pakenham and Frankston South.

Desirable

• A thorough understanding of the primary care operational challenges in a highly regulated and changing industry
• Tertiary qualifications in management, commerce, or accounting
• Experience running a group of medical or allied health care centres.
