Intro

Role title: ICT Procurement and Contract Manager

Very high profile Federal Government agency.

The role will be based in Canberra.

Work will be office based, with some WFH (the amount may well flex depending on (for instance, the need for face-to-face meetings, etc).

This contract role is expected to run for up to 3 years (including extensions).

Role Summary

The PMO of this large Federal Government agency will consult with smaller ‘sub-agencies’ to identify those needing a technology uplift and support them to choose a solution that best meets needs and budgets.

The PMO will work with entities to prepare a consolidated budget comeback to support the required smaller entity ERP technology uplifts.

(As such, experience with ERP contracts would be a bonus.)

The present role of “ICT Procurement and Contract Manager” will sit within the PMO, and lead the planning, execution, and governance of ICT procurement and contract manager activities to enable the successful delivery of critical projects.

This role is to ensure procurement processes are aligned with the PMO’s project objectives, deliver value for money, and comply with relevant frameworks and legislative requirements.

The position involves extensive collaboration with project managers, technical teams, and vendors, as well as providing strategic advice and leadership to ensure ICT procurement supports the organisation’s broader goals.

The successful person will need to have extensive experience in ICT procurement and contract management, and also a strong understanding of ICT procurement and contract management processes and methodologies.

Duties Summary

Duties will include:

• the planning and execution of ICT procurement strategies for PMO-led projects;
• oversee the end-to-end ICT procurement lifecycle within the PMO, including tender development, evaluation, contract negotiation, and execution;
• develop and negotiate complex ICT contracts, such as SaaS, cloud computing, and managed services agreements;
• provide expert advice on ICT procurement, market trends, and vendor capabilities to inform PMO decision-making and strategy;
• build and maintain productive relationships with ICT vendors.
