The Department of Corrections is made up of correctional and community officers and professional managerial and administrative staff, who work together to keep the community safe and reduce re-offending. The Department provides custodial service for prisoners within secure facilities and supervision for community based adult offenders to ensure compliance with court and Parole Board Orders
As the Director, Workforce Development your primary objective is to provide strategic leadership in the development and management of the Department of Corrections’ College, including the development and implementation of workforce capability and talent acquisition strategies and services.
Your key responsibilities include providing strategic leadership in the delivery of accredited and non-accredited training and talent acquisition, providing expert advice to the senior leadership team on options to maximises organisational performance, and ensuring the Department’s Registered Training Organisation (RTO) is well managed and compliant with the Australian Skills Quality Authority (ASQA) standards, Vocational Education Training (VET) Quality Framework and relevant regulations
The key to your success will be your strategic leadership and comprehensive knowledge and experience of adult learning and development, and proven ability to deliver measurable outcomes and sustainable change within a diverse complex organisation. Highly developed communication skills, ability to develop productive working relationships and high-level self-management, motivation and organisational ability is essential.
