About the Position

We are seeking a passionate Practice Quality & Workforce Development Consultant to join our SafeKIDS team and drive strategic workforce development solutions and continuous quality improvement initiatives for Out of Home Care Services, based in Cairns and in the Far North Queensland Cape and Gulf areas.

  • Full time position.
  • Level 7 under the SCHCADS Award. Salary range is $115,066 - $119,872 + Super.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop a SafeKIDS workforce capability plan though contemporary people and culture practices to improve and enhance practices in areas of diversity and inclusion, learning and development, recruitment and selection, wellbeing, and talent management.
  • In consultation with the Director of Out of Home Care, develop workforce strategies ensuring alignment with policies and sustainability factors.
  • Develop and coordinate professional learning and development pathways to assist in building workforce capability.
  • Lead the delivery of Workforce Development Projects through a continued understanding of the diverse culture, and sensitivities of each community.
  • Develop and implement quality improvement plans and projects to support the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF) pre and post audit.
  • Travel to remote communities in the Far North Queensland Cape and Gulf areas.

About You

  • Minimum 3-5 years’ experience working in a specialist workforce development role, or similar, with a focus on diversity and inclusion, learning and development, recruitment, selection and wellbeing.
  • Strong cultural awareness and proven experience in workforce development, particularly in working with culturally and linguistically diverse (CALD) communities, including Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander peoples.
  • In-depth knowledge of the Out of Home Care and Child Protection sectors, including the Human Services Quality Framework (HSQF), or the ability to develop this knowledge base quickly.
  • Demonstrated ability to think and act at an operational and strategic level, adopting a hands-on approach and delivering on agreed objectives.
