Selection Criteria
1. Qualifications and/ or licenses
- Qualification in Community Development/Volunteer management and /or equivalent career experience in volunteer management or relevant equivalent experience with transferrable skills.
- Knowledge and experience or ability to gain knowledge in Workplace Health & Safety, compliance and emergency and hazard policy, procedures and management.
- First Aid Certificate or ability to acquire First Aid Certificate.
- Blue Card or ability to acquire Blue Card.
2. Experience and knowledge
- Experience co-ordinating volunteer recruitment, management and training initiatives or ability to demonstrate comparable skills.
- Strong ability to lead, motivate, inspire, and provide tangible recognition initiatives to volunteers.
- Demonstrated strong organisational skills, time management skills, a high level of attention to detail, with
- ability to respond efficiently to competing demands.
- Demonstrated experience in working in a fast-paced environment with competing demands.
- Strong administration and computing skills particularly with Microsoft office, retail management software, Business databases.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills, incorporating verbal & written communication skills, with an understanding of team dynamics.

Key Accountabilities
- Lead and develop a dedicated team of Front and Back of House volunteers, establish accountabilities and work priorities, and manage resources associated with volunteerism.
- Lead best practice recruitment processes for volunteers integrating and nurturing skilled volunteers into organisational operations both in Front and Back of house.
- Seek and recruit volunteers from across the community with emphasis on Inclusivity and Diversity.
- Coordinate rosters and organise work flows for all Volunteers – front and back of house.
- Develop and deliver a dynamic and inclusive volunteer training program including support materials/manuals.
- Provide workplace Induction and develop with other work areas an internal annual calendar of skills based training.
- Supervise volunteer’s performance and develop rewards and recognition program.
- Maintain accurate volunteer databases and records.
- Contribute to CHS strategic, operational and budget planning processes.
- Provide operational cover as Duty Manager as required.
- Provide Executive support and/or other duties as required including monthly and Annual Reporting.
- Seek and Apply for grants and funding to support volunteers and training programs for Society.
- Lead the Society’s Workplace Health and Safety program.
- Develop/ maintain training guides and Operational Manuals for Society.
- Contribute to the Society’s Emergency Management planning, implementation and evaluation.
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and standards including Workplace Health and Safety the CHS Code of Conduct and other policies and guidelines.
