About the Position
The Seaford Library team is focused on providing high-quality library services to both the local community and Seaford Secondary College, ensuring efficiency, effectiveness, and an exceptional customer experience for all.
Reporting to the Team Leader Seaford Library, this role focuses on collection development, analysis and maintenance of joint-use resources, and collaborating with the Seaford Secondary College community to ensure resources meet the needs of staff, students and curriculum. Provision of resources, training and information are core responsibilities of this role, along with budget management, asset management and record maintenance. This role also involves ensuring service delivery aligns with the Joint-Use Agreement, working collaboratively with fellow team members and school staff to design and implement impactful programs.

Working as part of a collaborative team in an inclusive environment, your passion for people, innovative approach, and experience in libraries will enable you to deliver exceptional customer service. You will be enthusiastic, proactive, and eager to collaborate closely with school staff and students to advance resource-based learning initiatives. With a strong understanding of teenagers' needs and interests, your creativity, leadership, and expert advice will guide the staff team, while your teaching qualifications (meeting the requirements for Registered Teacher status) will enhance your ability to engage with students and support their learning journey.
Key Selection Criteria:
- Experience in library and information services with a focus on collection management, resource development, and curriculum support.
- Strong leadership and collaboration skills, with proven experience in guiding staff and working effectively with school leadership and teachers.
- Proven teaching experience and ability to design innovative programs that foster resource-based learning, promote information literacy, and engage both staff and students.
- Knowledge of teaching and learning practices, with the ability to integrate library services into the school’s educational goals and address teenagers’ needs.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships and a commitment to exceptional customer service.
- Experience in budget management and operational planning, ensuring library services meet the needs of both the school and local community.
