We have openings for two full time roles: • HEW 6 - Librarian (12 months, fixed term)• HEW 7 - Senior Librarian (continuing) We are looking for someone with a library-related degree and experience teaching and training others. Experience in a university library is not strictly necessary; we welcome applicants from across the GLAM sector. About the Role Librarians in Education and Research Services play a core role in integrating innovative Library services into the student curriculum and supporting university research. Our team has the opportunity to directly impact future generations and drive innovation and change through services that support research excellence. As a Librarian (HEW 6), your role will involve: • Engaging with schools to provide library services around information literacy, research support, copyright, and resource selection.• Delivering reference services and research consultations at service points both online and in-person.• Designing and delivering workshops for students, researchers and staff to support an information literacy curriculum strategy or dedicated researcher program. • Contributing to projects to innovate library processes and services, aligned to the strategic priorities of the university. As a Senior Librarian (HEW 7), your role will involve: • Engaging with faculty to provide advice on information literacy, copyright, collections and access for new university courses • Designing workshop programs and resources that teach core information literacy concepts and knowledge, training students in literature searching, referencing and information management skills• Delivering one-on-one research consultations and individual support to academic staff and postgraduate research students • Developing and leading projects to innovate library processes and services, aligned to the strategic priorities of the university • This role has no direct reports but has opportunities to lead a team of staff to work on projects, as a stepping stone for someone to build skills to grow into leadership positions. The successful candidate will be required to obtain a Working with Children check. About the Team UTS Library is unlike other libraries you've worked at or might know. A relevant degree qualification granting eligibility for Associate level membership of ALIA with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. 2. Strong interpersonal and communication skills contributing to positive teamwork and collaboration with colleagues. 3. Experience in designing and delivering effective training programs. 4. Capacity to centre the client experience when delivering services and demonstrated ability to gather and use client feedback for continuous service improvement. For Senior Librarian (HEW 7): 1. A relevant degree qualification granting eligibility for Associate level membership of ALIA with relevant experience, or an equivalent combination of experience and education. 2. Excellent interpersonal and communication skills enabling effective engagement and partnership building with clients and stakeholders. 3. Experience in designing and delivering innovative library services, with particular consideration given to programs that deliver information literacy/fluency or research support. 4. Demonstrated ability to manage and lead projects that enhance the client experience, ensuring goals are met, timelines are realised, and outcomes are delivered. Remuneration & Benefits Base Salary Range: $94,476 to $115,327 pa (HEW 6/7) This role attracts 17% superannuation (pension) in addition to the base salary.
