About the role:
The General Hand Mowing delivers mowing services on a permanent full-time basis. The position is responsible for maintaining the City of Swan’s public spaces with high standards of care and professionalism. This role is ideal for someone who values a stable, secure job where you can see and take pride in the work you are accountable for.
The City of Swan is committed to accommodating flexibility within the workplace, where possible. Although this position is advertised as full-time, submissions from applicants that have a preference for part-time hours are invited and will be considered in this recruitment process. Part-time positions would be offered on full-day arrangement on a reduced roster of 1-4 days per week as mutually agreed.
Key Accountabilities include, but are not limited to:
- Mowing and maintaining public lawns, parks and other green spaces
- Operating and maintaining mowing and other plant equipment in accordance with policy and procedure
- Ensuring work areas are kept clean, tidy and presentable
- Adhering to safety legislation and practices
- Providing customer service to the community and external stakeholders when required

The successful candidate will have the following:
- A friendly can-do attitude and someone that is self-motivated
- Enjoys routine and consistency in their work
- Knowledge of Work, Health and Safety legislation and safe practices
- Previous experience in mowing and whipping works is a plus but not required – we are willing to train the right person with a great attitude
- ‘LR’ Class Motor Vehicle Licence
- Safety Awareness Training Certificate (White Card)
- Ability to pass a medical examination
- A satisfactory National Police Certificate

The salary for this position will be from $70,716.36 - $71,633.82 per annum (includes loading), depending on the skills and experience of the successful applicant.
