We are seeking a passionate Property Officer with sound technical knowledge, together with a knack for developing relationships to oversee the management of Council’s expansive property portfolio.

Property Officer

  • Full Time permanent position
  • You will be responsible for managing Council’s property portfolio by undertaking land dealings including the management of leases and licenses, negotiation of purchases, disposals and other property projects in accordance with the Local Government Act.
  • Provide property advisory services to the Council

About You

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • Tertiary Qualifications in a property or business-related field or substantial relevant experience.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of the legal and legislative requirements relevant to Local Government property services.
  • Understanding of property law dealings as they relate to Crown Land and Community Land, freehold land, lease and license tenure, property management agreements and land acquisition and disposal.
  • Excellent conciliation, interpersonal and communication skills and the ability to engage with a range of internal and external stakeholders.
  • Current commercial and community property management practices in a Local Government setting.

As part of Adelaide Hills Council’s Safe Environments Policy, a current Working with Children Check, and undertaking Child Safe Environment Training every three years, are requirements of the position.

A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the Council’s requirements will be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.
