About the Role
You will report directly to the Managing Director and serve as the Licensee in Charge, ensuring that all work is completed to a high standard and fully complies with NSW government regulations.
- Main Duties Include:
Project Management & Construction Supervision
• Oversee the construction management of government public housing maintenance and related building projects, ensuring timely, budget-friendly, and high-quality delivery.
• Supervise construction sites to ensure compliance with Australian Building Codes (NCC), NSW Fair Trading, and other relevant standards.
• Coordinate workers, subcontractors, and suppliers to ensure smooth project progress.
Building Regulations & Compliance
• Ensure all construction work complies with NSW Fair Trading regulations, building codes, permit requirements, and safety standards.
• Apply for and manage necessary building permits, ensuring adherence to local government and regulatory requirements.
• Oversee site safety, implement WHS (Work Health and Safety) regulations, and ensure all personnel operate safely. - Quality Control & Inspection
• Conduct quality inspections to ensure construction meets industry standards and contract requirements.
• Address building defects and issues, ensuring repairs and modifications meet government public housing standards.
• Organize project acceptance procedures and coordinate with relevant departments for quality review and certification. - Cost Control & Budget Management
• Manage project costs to ensure completion within budget.
• Assist in preparing quotations, procurement plans, and optimizing cost control strategies.
• Monitor material procurement and usage to ensure efficient resource allocation. - Team Management & Communication
• Train and guide on-site workers to improve technical skills and work efficiency.
• Communicate effectively with clients, government agencies, subcontractors, and other stakeholders to ensure smooth project execution.
• Resolve unforeseen issues during construction to ensure project progress.
Qualifications and Requirements:
• Must hold a valid NSW Builder Practitioner Licence and ensure compliance with NSW Fair Trading regulations.
• At least 5+ years of construction or project management experience; experience in government projects and public housing maintenance is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Australian building codes, WHS (Work Health and Safety), and compliance regulations.
• Excellent project management skills, with the ability to handle multiple projects simultaneously while maintaining strong time management and organizational skills.
• Strong leadership and communication skills to effectively coordinate construction teams, clients, and subcontractors.
• Proficiency in construction-related software such as AutoCAD, MS Project, or other project management tools.
• Strong problem-solving abilities to handle challenges that may arise during construction.
• Valid driver’s licence with the flexibility to travel within the Greater Sydney Region and surrounding areas.
