About us:
The Department of Treasury and Finance is the lead agency for economic, social and financial policy outcomes. We play a vital role in providing financial services to the community and economic and fiscal policy advice to the Government of South Australia.
We provide financial services to the community, covering asset and liability management, collection of state taxes, overdue fines and debt management, insurance and superannuation as well as services for work health and safety.
We also add value across government procurement activities through strategy, capability development, analysis and advice.
Shared Services SA (SSSA) is a branch within the Department of Treasury and Finance, it provides corporate and business services in the areas of payroll, accounts payable, accounts receivable and financial services so that all South Australian government departments can focus on their core business operations.
About the Opportunity
The Payroll, Taxation, AP/AR Officer roles contribute to the accurate and timely support of transactional services within Payroll, Accounts Payable /Accounts Receivable (AP/AR), Taxation and Financial Accounting.

About our recruitment process
The Payroll, Taxation, AP/AR Officer Temporary Pool will remain active for 6 months and you can apply at any time during this period.
We generally have opportunities for new people to join our team all throughout the year and your application will remain in the pool during this time and will be considered for the next available recruitment intake.
Applicants who have not been shortlisted and have received written notification or have been unsuccessful at interview need not reapply to the same pool.
As jobs become available
- We select candidates from our Employment Pool.
- If shortlisted, we will Invite you via email to attend an assessment centre where you will have a face-to-face behavioural job interview and participate in a basic skills tests and activity.
- If you are recommended from your performance in these activities, two references will be contacted, one being your current line manager or supervisor.
Special Conditions
- The successful applicant will be required to obtain and maintain a satisfactory SAPOL clearance or General Employment Probity Check as directed by Shared Services SA. Shared Services will initiate appropriate background screenings for successful applicants at Shared Services SA's expense. Applicants should not initiate their own screening checks or clearances and doing so will not entitle the applicant to reimbursement from Shared Services SA of costs incurred.
- All applicants should hold a current Australian work eligibility status.
