Accounts Officer

We are looking for an experienced Accounts Officer to support our Finance Team. Responsibilities include payroll, inventory, accounts receivable and compliance tasks across a wide range of business activities.

Location: The role is located with the Finance team. The role will be based at Nedlands with a minor amount of time spent working at our Bassendean site.

The Role:

The Accounts Officer role includes:

Accounts Receivable

• Processing sales, invoices and backup documentation, credit card payments, verifying accounts.
• Receiving payments, sending statements, vetting and onboarding customers
• Credit control, credit hold, processing credit notes, handling customer queries
• Sales reconciliation

Payroll

• Timely preparation and verification of data associated with payroll, award interpretation
• Compliance with legal requirements and processes
• Contribute to internal policies and procedures
• Preparing reconciliations, processing accruals, end of year processing and reporting

Inventory

• Reporting, reconciliation, analysis of variances, recording adjustments, processing journals and speaking to internal stakeholders to ensure the monthly stock balances are complete and accurate

Selection Criteria:

The successful applicant will have:

1. Three years’ accounting and payroll experience handling complex tasks, analysis, interpretation and reconciliation.
2. Responsibility for inventory review or reconciliation.
3. Intermediate level in the standard Microsoft suite of products: Outlook, Excel, Word, SharePoint and Microsoft Teams.
4. A recognised accounting or bookkeeping qualification.
5. Excellent verbal and written communication and interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with external stakeholders professionally by phone and in person, and work with people with disabilities.
6. Good time management skills with the ability to work unsupervised.

Desirable:

It is desirable that the Accounts Officer is experienced in:

• Operating Preceda, Xero and Dext.
• Identify accruals, prepayments and provisions, and preparing reconciliations.
• Managing insurance renewals.
• Maintaining a fixed asset register.
• Preparing and lodging GST returns.

Appointment Factors:
• Production of a recent (within the past 12 months) National Police Clearance.
• NDIS Worker Screening Clearance.
• Vaccination in accordance with current Australian or WA State Government legislation or directions.
• Current WA Driver’s Licence.
