The Company You’ll Join
- Our client is a chemical supplier specialising in food hygiene, cleaning systems and solutions, serving manufacturing businesses across the Australian market, with operations now integrated into a larger European-owned global group.
- As a specialist in their field, they supply chemicals and cleaning systems to over 600 customers with diverse needs, offering customised solutions that ensure food safety and hygiene compliance.
- The company is establishing a shared services function for the Asia Pacific region to ensure consistency of data, consistent use of ERP systems, and standardised reporting across all entities in the region.
- Working closely with counterparts in China, Philippines and other regional offices, you'll be part of a global network where finance teams are being restructured to link functionally across the region.
- Currently operating with an SAP Business One ERP system (with plans to transition to Oracle in approximately two years), the business is focused on improving its financial management capabilities.
- The Australian operation consists of approximately 35 staff members, including manufacturing and field-based sales teams, with the office team based in Knoxfield, Victoria.
The Impact You’ll Make
- Our client needs a Finance & Administration Manager who can help transform their financial systems and processes while managing office operations and leading a team of experienced customer service staff.
- Reporting directly to the Managing Director, you'll manage a team of three experienced customer service staff while serving as the primary finance resource for the Australian business.
- You'll be instrumental in improving credit control processes, which has been identified as a key area needing enhancement, developing relationships with customers while ensuring timely payment collection.
- Working across both financial management and day-to-day office operations, you'll coordinate with the shared services team in the Philippines who handle accounts payable/receivable functions, while you focus on higher-level financial analysis and reporting.
- Your role includes managing day-to-day office functions, including phone systems, contracts with service providers, and other administrative responsibilities.
- This is an in-office role based in Knoxfield with hours from approximately 8am to 5pm to ensure proper supervision of the office-based team.
The Experience You’ll Bring
- You'll have 3-5 years of experience in roles related to accounting, auditing, or finance, ideally with exposure to manufacturing businesses where product is made from components.
- A Bachelor's degree in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration or related field is preferred.
- You'll be adaptable and flexible, able to manage both the financial aspects of the role and the day-to-day management of the customer service team.
- Experience with ERP systems is valuable, specific SAP Business One knowledge is not essential but preferred.
- You'll need sufficient understanding of IT to help problem-solve and coordinate with external consultants when required.
