The Opportunity:

Our client, a progressive and expanding mid-sized law firm with offices in Melbourne and Sydney, is seeking a Principal – Commercial Law to lead and grow their practice.

Duties:

• Lead & expand a profitable commercial law practice, bringing an existing client base of approximately $500K+.
• Mentor & manage a small team of junior lawyers, fostering growth and development.
• Provide strategic legal advice on complex commercial transactions & disputes.
• Work with high-profile clients across industries such as FMCG, Manufacturing, Education, Healthcare, Agriculture, Technology, Government, and Start-ups.
• Play a pivotal role in business development and the firm’s ongoing expansion.

About You:

• 10+ years’ PAE in Commercial Law, with strong transactional and advisory experience.
• A proven client base of approximately $500K+.
• A collaborative leadership style, with experience mentoring junior lawyers.
• A commercial mindset, with the ambition and drive to contribute to firm growth.
• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to foster long-term client relationships.
