About the role
Are you passionate about supporting patient care and ensuring a safe, effective, and quality healthcare environment? St Vincent's Hospital Sydney Ltd. (SVHS) is looking for a dedicated and proactive Wards Support Supervisor to join our team. This key role oversees the cleanliness, maintenance, and non-clinical support services across our hospital campus, working in close collaboration with clinical and frontline staff.
Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise daily operations: Oversee day-to-day activities of ward support staff, ensuring quality service delivery and alignment with Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
- Leadership & Staff Development: Mentor and coach staff, promote teamwork, manage rostering, and ensure staff performance meets organizational standards.
- Report & Performance Management: Gather data, prepare reports for the Ward Support Manager, and manage performance reviews and development for all ward support staff.
- Training & Compliance: Ensure all staff attend mandatory training, maintain professional conduct, and adhere to infection control and hospital policies.
- Collaborative Engagement: Work with clinical staff to ensure effective service delivery, maintain strong relationships, and assist in policy development and improvement projects
About you
- Proven Experience: Experience in managing day-to-day operations of patient support services within a large, complex organization.
- Leadership & Team Management: Strong leadership skills with a demonstrated ability to lead, manage, and develop a team, with excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Tech-Savvy: Well-developed computer skills, particularly with the MS Office suite, and a proven ability to use technology efficiently in a work setting.
- Independent & Collaborative: Ability to work independently and as part of a team, collaborating effectively with stakeholders to achieve shared goals.
- Work Health & Safety Awareness: A solid understanding of Work Health and Safety principles, ensuring a safe and compliant working environment for all staff.
