Chippy's Outdoor is seeking an experienced Retail Administrator and Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team in Melbourne, Victoria. In this vital role, you will be responsible for:

• Maintaining accurate financial records
• Processing invoices
• Payroll
• End of month reconciliations
• Management reporting
• ATO compliance
• Bank reconciliations
• Supporting the overall accounting functions of the business.
• Retail support and office administration

What you'll be doing:

• Perform daily bookkeeping tasks, including data entry, account reconciliations, and financial reporting
• Process accounts payable and accounts receivable invoices in a timely manner
• Assist with the preparation of financial statements and management reports
• Undertake all payroll and associated functions within the business
• Ensure compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations
• Provide office administrative support to the wider team as needed
• Collaborate with the wider business to provide financial information and advice
• Identify opportunities for improved efficiency and effectiveness for the business
• Supporting the retail operation of the business as required.
• Supporting the office administration operation of the business as required.

What we're looking for:

• Relevant qualifications in Accounting or Bookkeeping, or equivalent experience
• Minimum 5 years experience as a Bookkeeper (registered BAS agent would be favourable)
• Appropriate membership and accreditation with professional body (would be favourable)
• Strong knowledge of accounting principles, practices, and software (e.g. Xero)
• Must have knowledge of General Journals, clearing accounts, loans, finance agreements, FBT etc.
• Excellent attention to detail and numerical accuracy
• Proficient in Microsoft Office, particularly Excel
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Someone who is willing to diversify their skillset and assist in other areas of the business. This can include office admin, customer support, and product knowledge.
