Your Role:

As the Leading Hand Carpenter, you will help lead the carpentry and painting team, along with contractors. Your responsibilities will include performing, inspecting, and offering guidance on tasks such as fabrication, installation, repairs, finishing, and maintenance of various City assets, ensuring they meet both industry standards and the City of Perth's requirements. Reporting to the Infrastructure and Trades Officer, you’ll be instrumental in keeping our operations running smoothly.

Key Responsibilities:

• Participate in the development and implementation of an annual planning, training and performance program within a team environment and individual staff;
• Complete workplace inspections to ensure safety procedures as well as industry and City standards are adhered to;
• Perform maintenance on all City facilities including in parks, road reserves, carparks and sports grounds and buildings; and
• Conduct site inspections for external contractor works, reporting on quality and completion of works as necessary.
