Experienced Dental Receptionist and Assistant

Are you seeking a dental assistant or dental front office role in a friendly team environment with great development and advancement opportunities?

We are in search of two new team members with a genuine passion for dentistry and patient care to join our expanding dental team.

About Us

We are a small private practice, offering a wide range of dental services including general, implant, Invisalign and all facets of cosmetic dentistry. To complement our dentistry, we also offer facial aesthetic services.

Our qualified and passionate team of three dentists alongside our dedicated support staff, strive to deliver exceptional dental care to every patient, every day. We are a friendly supportive close-knit team offering a supportive environment to assist you in reaching your full potential.

Our days of operation span Monday to Friday with appointments available for our patients between 8am-5pm so your weekends and evenings are always your own.

We pay above award rates with remuneration based on your experience and skills.

Our Assistant Role

We require an experienced part-time dental assistant to work approximately 34 hours over a 4-day week, with an immediate start available.

As you will be working with both our principal and associate dentists, your role and the assistance you provide will be enormously important!

Your main responsibilities will be:

  • Welcoming our patients and ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for
  • Preparing and maintaining the surgery for all dental treatments and procedures
  • Maintaining infection controls as per the ADA standards
  • Overseeing the sterilisation and maintenance of instruments and equipment
  • Accurate charting and recording of patient notes
  • Proficient chair-side assistance including mixing of dental materials
  • Maintaining the cleanliness and stock requirements within the surgery

The successful candidate will:

  • Hold a formal qualification in dental assisting
  • Have a sound dental knowledge and understanding of dental procedures
  • Possess a warm and empathetic approach to patients and be able to build relationships
  • Have strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Have high standards and attention to detail
  • Be highly organised, demonstrate initiative and be able to prioritise responsibilities
  • Have a passion and willingness to learn and grow
  • Be able to work autonomously but also be a team player with an excellent work ethic

Experience with implants, surgical procedures and Invisalign will be highly regarded.

Our Front Office Role

Our front office role is a part-time position working 3 days a week with the potential to increase to an additional day as we expand.

Must be available to work at least one day per week from 7.30am – 5.15pm however, other days may have some flexibility of start and finish times.

Immediate start is available.

As you will be our client’s first point of contact and their last, your role and the service you provide is enormously important!

Your main responsibilities will be:
* Welcoming our patients and ensuring they feel comfortable and cared for
* Assisting our patients with their appointments, treatment plans, queries and accounts
* Management of the appointment book including appointment reconfirmations
* Attending to incoming and outgoing communications including referrals and reports
* Submissions of DVA and GDHS payments
* Liaising with our dental laboratories / co-ordinating lab work requirements
* Ensuring the front office and waiting area is presentable and clean
* Attending to other clerical and patient related tasks as required

The successful applicant will:

  • Hold a formal qualification in dental assisting
  • Have a minimum of a years’ experience in an assisting or dental front office role
  • Have sound dental knowledge and understanding of dental procedures
  • Have a warm and empathetic approach to patients and be able to build relationships
  • Have exceptional communication and customer service skills
  • Have the ability to prioritise tasks and show initiative
  • Have high standards and attention to detail
  • Have a passion and willingness to learn and grow
  • Be a team player with an excellent work ethic

A knowledge of the principals of Prime Practice and EXACT dental software will be looked upon favourably for these roles however, we are willing to train the right candidate.
