  • Monday to Friday, 72.5 hours per fortnight, 9 day fortnight
  • $106,584 - $113,742 per annum (LGIA Stream A Level 6) + Superannuation
  • Location – Rockhampton

This position supports Council’s strategic objectives by spearheading business improvement initiatives, conducting in-depth reviews and analysis, and fostering a culture of continuous improvement. You’ll ensure that processes and systems operate efficiently while delivering exceptional customer service and technical support that aligns with the goals of the Office of the CEO, Corporate Services Department, and Council.

This position requires the completion of a satisfactory Criminal History Check - Police Certificate (Australia Wide Name Only Police Check).

What we are looking for

  • Demonstrated experience and success in policy and process development
  • Significant working knowledge of relevant Local Government operations, legislative frameworks and Council’s policies and procedures
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to develop relationships with a variety of stakeholders
  • A collaborative approach to ensure continuous improvement and positive outcomes for Council
  • Highly organised individual with the ability to manage all enquires and issues promptly and effectively
  • Tertiary Qualification in a related discipline is desirable

Application Criteria

  • Demonstrated high level knowledge and experience in policy review and proficiency in writing policies and procedures.
  • Strong knowledge of business improvement methodologies and their application in a complex multidisciplinary environment.
  • Proven ability to prioritise tasks, manage time effectively, and consistently meet deadlines within a fast-paced environment, ensuring successful project delivery.
  • Highly developed communication and interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to build consensus and effectively communicate with diverse stakeholders, including Councillors, consultants, senior management and key stakeholders, to achieve project goals.
  • Ability to analyse existing systems and develop innovative solutions to improve efficiency and effectiveness.
