Details: Next Steps Reform and Strategy Implementation team has temporary vacancies for Directors. The Director, Next Steps is responsible for a variety of tasks, including providing high quality secretariat support to a wide variety of meetings including operational committees and high-level councils. The Director is also responsible for the coordination of information gathering and liaising across the directorate and other directorates to source this information. Skilled engagement and communication are essential to be successful in the role along with the ability to engage with a wide variety of stakeholders in a trauma informed and culturally sensitive manner.

The Director will be required to manage a variety of projects aligned with the implementation of the Next Steps Strategy.

Eligibility/Other Requirements:

  • Tertiary qualifications and / or experience relevant to the role. Qualifications in Social Work, Psychology, Education or an allied health position are desirable but not essential.
  • Experience and/or a desire to work in a community services environment is essential.
  • Prior to commencement, the successful candidate will be required to undergo a pre-employment National Police Check
  • This position requires a Working with Vulnerable People Check. This position requires a Working with Vulnerable People Check. Prior to commencing in this role, a current registration issued under the Working with Vulnerable People (Background Checking) ACT 2011 will be required. For further information on Working with Vulnerable people registrations, refer to Access Canberra.

Notes: There are two temporary positions available, one for a period three years and another for a period of 12 months with the possibility of extension and/or permanency. A Merit Pool may be established from this selection process and maybe used to fill temporary and permanent vacancies over the next 12 months. Selection may be based on application and referee reports only.
