Manager, Strategy & Performance

Your new role

We have an opportunity for an individual to join our Risk & Integrity team as Manager, Strategy & Performance on a full-time ongoing basis. Reporting to the Director - Strategy & Risk, the Manager - Strategy & Performance is responsible for implementing and maintaining a high quality, systematic and integrated approach to strategic, operational and performance planning and organisational performance reporting across IBAC.

Duties include:

  • Oversee the alignment of IBAC's strategic goals with broader government and sector priorities, with an emphasis on accountability, transparency and ethics through the design and implementation of short and long-term strategic initiatives that represent IBAC governance and operational context.
  • Consult and implement the development and maintenance of strategic risk including identification, assessment and management of risks that impact the ability to meet strategic and operational activities whilst safeguarding public trust. Provide advice on emerging risks, and the recommendation of appropriate mitigation strategies and corrective action
  • Ensure the strategy, framework and execution planning is clearly communicated and that accountabilities are cascaded through business unit planning and performance management processes.
  • Establish, drive and improve the IBAC planning and performance management function to enable the optimal allocation of resources to deliver agreed outcomes and priorities and ensure alignment with the public sector strategic management cycle, other central agency and/or State Budget requirement(s) including Annual Plan and report.
  • Maintain a strong network across IBAC and the public sector more broadly to enable more effective engagement, coordination and capability development.
  • Drive a culture of high performance, by providing direction and clear communication regarding role responsibilities and expectations; provide regular performance management and progress reviews to address performance strengths and gaps and provide relevant training and development opportunities to ensure successful achievement.
  • Professionally and promptly manage and resolve more complex work-related issues through to resolution; support constructive working relationships and act as a role model, modelling ethical behaviours and values

Our requirements / Your skill set

We are looking for candidates with the below experience and capabilities:

  • A tertiary qualification in a relevant discipline is essential.
  • Significant experience and demonstrated ability to provide guidance and assistance in the facilitation of business and strategic planning and integrating this into other frameworks including risk.
  • Demonstrated experience and/or ability to develop effective performance measures, monitoring processes and reports, including using technology.
  • Experience in the application of business Intelligence and ICT systems (PowerBI, Tableau) to measure and report on performance is desirable.
  • Experience in a public sector or integrity environment is essential.

Due to the requirement to attain a Negative Vetting 1 security clearance candidates must be an Australian citizen at the time of application.
