SERO4 has been successful in securing Statewide funding for the Next Step Home (NSH) program in partnership with the Department of Housing (DOH). Year one there will be roles in Southeast Qld and Townsville and in Year two will include Cairns.

These role will utilise the MARA Model and MARA tools to support women in this program. The MARA NSH team will work closely with MARA in custody workers and in community workers and as required our Financial Counsellors in our Financial Inclusion Program.
The role entails:
- Supporting the referral process includes visits to the Corrections Centre's - 4 in SE Qld
- Supporting the reintegration of women leaving custody into their own property (tenancy managed by DOH)
- Setting up of homes including ordering & assembling some furniture, ordering whitegoods and being available for deliveries of household goods and services, this may incur come out of hours set up, access to toil is available.
- Case management of a caseload the current and a new caseload, support with the women for a period of 12 months. This could include advocacy with systems agencies, transport to and from appointments, community corrections engagement, supporting education and employment, parenting, mental health, AOD and longer term goal planning.
- NSH workers will work alongside DOH NSH workers.
- Reporting: there is multiple platforms of program reporting and recording information for the Department of Housing and QCS IOMS database
- This role provides an opportunity to deliver individual case management with women across a variety of domains.
You must have Tertiary Qualifications in community and human services and minimum of 3 years experience in the sector, preferable experience in or with the criminal justice system, domestic, family, sexual violence, mental health or AOD.
