About the Role
The Compliance and Quality Assurance Specialist is responsible for ensuring that Trilogy Care maintains operational diligence in policy and procedure application to support regulatory compliance in aged care service delivery.
In the first 3-6 months, this role will conduct a comprehensive gap analysis of existing policies and procedures against:
- The Aged Care Act 2024
- Other relevant legislation and regulatory requirements
- The strengthened Aged Care Quality Standards
Following the analysis, the role will drive policy review, development, and implementation as required to ensure Trilogy Care remains fully compliant with evolving aged care regulations. Beyond this, the role will be responsible for ongoing compliance monitoring, maintaining the Quality Assurance Framework, and developing quality assurance activities that support service delivery, including oversight of third-party service providers to ensure their compliance with regulatory requirements.
This position serves as the “go-to” subject matter expert on whether procedures align with aged care legislation, quality standards, and compliance obligations.
Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Policy Development
- Conduct gap analyses to align policies with the Aged Care Act 2024 and quality standards.
- Develop and implement policies to ensure compliance and operational alignment.
- Maintain clear, practical policies that are effectively embedded across the business.
Ongoing Compliance & Quality Assurance
- Ensure policies remain up to date with legislative and quality standard changes.
- Oversee policy application to support regulatory compliance in service delivery.
- Maintain and refine the Quality Assurance Framework, including audits and reporting.
- Advise management on compliance risks and mitigation strategies.
Third-Party Compliance Oversight
- Assess and monitor compliance of external service providers.
- Implement quality control measures to uphold service delivery standards.
- Embed compliance requirements into supplier agreements.
Advisory & Internal Support
- Act as a key advisor on regulatory and quality compliance.
- Provide training and guidance to staff on compliance obligations.
- Support investigations and corrective actions for compliance breaches.
- Collaborate with leadership to foster a compliance-driven culture.
Skills and Qualifications
Essential Criteria
- Extensive knowledge of the Aged Care Act 2024 and Aged Care Quality Standards.
- Proven experience in policy development, quality assurance, or regulatory compliance within aged care, health, or other regulated sectors.
- Strong analytical skills to assess compliance, identify risks, and implement practical solutions.
- Demonstrated ability to develop and implement policies and procedures that drive regulatory alignment.
- Skilled in interpreting legislation and translating complex regulations into clear operational processes.
- Experience in compliance monitoring, audits, and reporting to support quality assurance.
- Strong stakeholder engagement and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across teams.
- Excellent written communication skills, with experience drafting policies, guidelines, and compliance documentation.
Desirable Criteria
- Experience in managing compliance for third-party service providers.
- Understanding of risk management principles related to aged care compliance.
- Previous experience in a leadership role within compliance or quality assurance.
