About the Role

Flinders University, Student Administration Services team are seeking a customer-oriented Flinders Connect Officer who is passionate about providing support to students on a range of administrative matters relating to their studies and the various services offered at Flinders University.

As the Flinders Connect Officer, you will be the first point of contact for a large variety of student enquiries. The key to your success will be your resilience, empathy and customer-centred approach with an aim of achieving positive outcomes for all. On a day-to-day basis you will be responsible for:

  • Delivering high quality front-line current student support services across a wide variety of administrative and student life enquiries via all enquiry channels, putting the resolution of student enquiries as the primary focus of all activities.
  • Interpreting and advising students on a wide range of student administration services policies and procedures, such as enrolment, class registration, fees, examinations, graduations, and leave of absence.
  • Delivering transactional services to students such as the creation of student ID cards and the acceptance of EFTPOS payments.

About You

An excellent communicator, with the ability to develop relationships with students and staff, you will pride yourself on your high-level customer service skills. You will combine this with your empathy and resilience to respond to and resolve student enquiries.

The successful candidate will also possess:

  • Demonstrated experience in a high-volume, fast paced front-line customer service environment with the ability to utilise their patience and resilience attributes.
  • Knowledge of student-related higher education policies, procedures and administrative processes.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in the use of complex web-based business applications.

Student Administration Services

Student Administration Services operates under a university wide matrix services model. SAS teams are integrated within each of the six colleges, along with the front-end student service hub (Flinders Connect) and university-wide administration services to provide support across the student lifecycle, from admissions through to graduations.

The suite of services that the SAS unit delivers are crucial to the student experience. These services act as the scaffold around the learning experience. In a world of increasing choices and options for students, service excellence is non-negotiable. In SAS, we understand that improving the student experience requires a holistic, one team approach.

The SAS team also likes to have fun and we celebrate our successes. Although spread across colleges and campuses, we take time to come together and build relationships across teams. Social activities, training and development sessions, communities of practice and staff led projects support engagement and provide opportunities to extend our understanding of the University and its environment. Prescribed Conditions for Employment

  • A valid National Police Certificate which is satisfactory to the University will also be required before the successful applicant can commence in this position.

How to Apply and Information

  • Experience in a high-volume, fast paced, demanding front-line customer service environment where patience and resilience attributes are required.
  • Knowledge of student-related higher education policies, procedures and administrative processes.
  • High level of computer literacy, particularly in the use of complex web-based business applications.
  • Experience in the use of student administration and Customer Relationship Management (CRM) systems, in particular Microsoft Dynamics.
  • Ability to effectively assist in the induction, training and ongoing support and development of new staff.
