The Department of Social Work and Development at Sydney Met is expanding. Through our Department of Social Work and Development, Sydney Met currently delivers the undergraduate Bachelor of Social Work, accredited with TEQSA and provisionally accredited with the Australian Association of Social Workers (AASW) that commenced in 2023, and is currently seeking accreditation for the postgraduate Master of Social Work (Qualifying), Graduate Diploma in Human and Community Services, and Graduate Certificate in Human and Community Services.

We are seeking passionate, values-driven Social Work Field Education Liaison Officer (FELO) with a commitment to social work education to join Sydney Met as we deliver the Bachelor of Social Work and, prepare to roll out the Master of Social Work (Qualifying). This is an opportunity to join a committed team and make a difference to the social work profession through education.

About You (Essential Requirements)

  • Eligible for full membership of the AASW;
  • Bachelor of Social Work or Master of Social Work (Qualifying) Degree;
  • Strong understanding of AASW accreditation and ASWEAS standards and requirements for field education in social work;
  • Demonstrated ability to work independently, problem-solver, and manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment;
  • Commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion in field education practices and course development;
  • Clinical or practical supervision experience;
  • Ability to communicate and work effectively and cooperatively with colleagues from diverse cultural, religious, gender and socio-economic background;.
  • Technological literacy and experience in developing online communication tools and previous experience in online education is desirable;
  • Evidence of a capacity to contribute to effective administration;
  • Willingness to travel to placement sites mid-term and end of term to conduct placement meetings; and
  • Clinical and or field education experience desireable, but not essential.
