- Contract: Full-time, commencing Term 2, 2025 (15th of April 2025).
- Salary: $ 92,215 to 131,349 (depending on experience)

The Alice Springs Steiner School is seeking a creative and enthusiastic Class Teacher for Class 3, to commence in Term 2, 2025. The successful applicant will be passionate about education, with an understanding of Steiner pedagogy and a willingness to deepen their knowledge.
At The Alice Springs Steiner School, the Class Teacher is supported by experienced release specialists and individual support assistants. A Learning Support Coordinator also assists the teacher and individual students with diverse learning needs.

Key Responsibilities
- Work effectively with the College of Teachers, Principal and Administration Staff
- Plan, implement, document, assess and report on teaching programs aligned to the Australian Steiner Curriculum Framework (ASCF), which is recognised by the Australian Curriculum Assessment and Reporting Authority (ACARA).
- Develop educational adjustment plans and other adjustments for individual students based on best practice interventions for inclusion, wellbeing, and learning.
- Maintain accurate records of class attendance, engage with incident reporting, behaviour management reporting and mandatory reporting as required.
- Supervise a range of student activities including support and welfare programs, Festivals.
- Preparation and presentation of all Main Lesson blocks and other lesson plans when requested. This necessitates a good knowledge of the Steiner curriculum at the time of appointment.
- Preparation and presentation of all lessons not covered by specialist teachers, such as painting, modelling, drawing, form drawing, recorder, singing, handcraft etc.
- Liaising with specialist teachers concerning their program and students' progress.
- Assessment of students' progress, academic and social.
- Carrying daily, weekly, and seasonal rhythms and preparing for Festivals.
- Keep adequate records including rolls, programs, scope, and sequence documents, plans of work and reviews, assessments, and reports.
- Liaise with parents and undertake home visits as required and promote healthy development of harmonious social relationships amongst the student cohort.
- Maintain classroom. Care of aesthetic environment; blackboard work, artistic presentation.
- Participate in the teacher mentor, self-appraisal, and evaluation process.
- Attend school between hours of 8.00am and 4.00pm to: Facilitate classroom preparation and atmosphere and to welcome children - Tidy-up room at the end of the day.
- Comply with the policies, educational/philosophical expectations, and guidelines of the school– which include yearly curriculum overviews, lesson plans, student records and reports, teacher appraisals and reviews.
Qualifications
The applicant must be a Registered Teacher in the NT (TRB), and provide a current Ochre Card, Police Check and First Aid Certificate (or be able to provide these prior to the contract start date).
Moving to the Northern Territory
The Alice Springs Steiner School offers a generous relocation allowance ($5000) if the successful applicant is located outside of the Northern Territory.
