Hours per fortnight

73.50 hours per fortnight - flexible options available.

Duties
  • To conduct as Solicitor and Counsel routine and complex child safety and family law matters on behalf of the State of Tasmania, its instrumentalities and Agencies before a range of Courts and Tribunals.
  • Undertake legal research and advise Government Agencies and instrumentalities on complex child safety and family law legal matters.
  • Provide professional supervision and instruction to junior legal practitioners, including allocating and supervising professional legal work.
  • To participate in performance management and file reviews as directed by the Director of Public Prosecutions.
  • Such matters as directed by the Director and Assistant Director.
Essential Requirements
  • Admitted or eligible for admission as a Barrister or Practitioner of the Supreme Court of Tasmania.
  • A Current Tasmanian Registration to Work with Vulnerable People.
  • Current drivers licence.

Desirable Requirements
  • A minimum of seven years relevant experience.
