About the role
The Office Manager manages the finance and business services of the Business Services team. Services include: finance, contract management, human resources, IT, assets and facilities, administration, and workplace health and safety. This role can be managed remotely.
The role reports to the Director, and plays a key role in the checks and balances of the organisation’s policies, practices and compliance points across the business, providing this oversight on behalf of the Director.
The role is responsible for the planning, implementing, managing and controlling of all fiscal and fiduciary responsibilities for the organisation. This includes direct responsibility for budgeting, expenditure control, financial risk management, project accounting, auditing, statutory compliance, and financial performance reporting and evaluation.
The role plays a critical role in developing and implementing business strategies, financial plans, modelling and reporting. The role also works as a part of the senior management team that makes strategic decisions about the business.
The role has at least five direct reports, and plays a ‘hands on’ role managing the day-to-day work of a small team across all functions. A key function of the role is developing the skills of the team and ensuring high-quality output of the team’s work.
Essential Selection Criteria:

- Previous experience as a business manager in a complex and expanding organisation across business support areas of HR, contracts, stakeholder relationships and the other areas
- Knowledge of managing a small team and supporting it daily to deliver high-quality work
- Experience leading the financial management systems of a medium to large organisation
- Experience in financial budgeting, reporting, and forecasting skills across complex and dynamic revenue sources
- Knowledge of government funding, contract management and auditing requirements for a not-for-profit organisation
- Knowledge of employment and industrial relations framework, and managing a HR unit
- Excellent attention to detail and excellent written and verbal communication
- Strong conceptual skills including the ability for analysis and problem solving
- Positions at GGSA are subject to the successful candidate being able to obtain a National Police check and a Working with Children card (Blue Card).
