The Role
The Learning and Development Officer will play a critical role in contributing to the development of cutting edge Air Mobility Group (AMG) training. Within this role, you will perform analysis, design, development and evaluation of learning and development activities, including development of curriculum for AMG aircraft platforms. You will conduct stakeholder engagement in relation to complex learning and development issues to determine aviation and maintenance training needs, and lead development of relevant curriculum.
You will develop and maintain supporting systems, policies and processes, evaluate and recommend learning and development strategies for emerging capabilities and conduct governance activities in accordance with the Defence Systems Approach to Defence Learning.
The successful candidate will coordinate and contribute to team objectives in alignment with work plans, and provide advice and assistance on various modes of task completion to team members. They will be capable of reviewing and developing the quality or work undertaken by others as well as identify opportunities for on-the-job training within the work unit.
About our Team
AMG is responsible for preparing and conducting air mobility operations for Defence force projection. AMG Squadrons are located at RAAF Bases Richmond, Amberley and Defence Establishment Fairbairn operating globally on a daily basis and are often the first on the scene when deploying Defence assets in time of crisis.
You will be part of an integrated Learning & Development team consisting of ADF, APS and Contractors responsible for the design and development of effective and efficient ‘fit for purpose’ learning/training continuum to ensure AMG workforce is appropriately trained to meet Air Mobility capability requirements.
Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will possess technical acumen and be able to work creatively under limited direction to perform and achieve complex learning and development work for multiple aircraft platforms within an integrated workforce. You will be comfortable to work independently, and will exercise initiative and judgement in the application of learning and development practices and procedures within an aviation focused environment. You will be motivated to learn and adapt, always seeking to contribute to the organisation goals and vision.
The right person for this role will be accountable to contribute towards ongoing self-improvement and professional development. You will be proficient in the use of a wide range of tools to aid in carrying out your work such as Microsoft Office tools and other IT systems. The right person for this role will show flexibility to respond to the changing context and shifting priorities of AMG, to achieve business outcomes for a geographically dispersed team.
