Our client is a leading Australian minerals company specialising in project development, mining, processing, and marketing of mineral sands. With over 40 years of industry experience, our client multi nationally is the largest producer of certain high-grade minerals. The company is committed to innovation and driving Australia's transition to clean energy - working with refinery sites across Australia, enabling them to produce essential minerals vital for modern technology and renewable energy solutions.

About the Role

This is an opportunity for a passionate Learning & Development (L&D) Officer with strong training delivery experience to drive site-based training initiatives across Regional Victorian mine sites. This role is 12-month fixed-term contract, and operates on an FIFO roster (8 days on / 6 days off) with the ideal candidate based in Melbourne and regularly travelling to our clients regional site.

In this role, you will be responsible for designing, developing, and delivering operational training programs for a workforce of approximately 300 personnel. Ensuring compliance and safety will be a top priority, along with skill development of the workforce.

Key Responsibilities Include:

  • Collaborate with site stakeholders to evaluate, plan, and implement training requirements.
  • Develop and enhance L&D programs, including presentations, learner guides, assessments, and procedures.
  • Assist subject matter experts in creating operational training materials.
  • Conduct training needs analyses to ensure compliance and competency standards are met.
  • Oversee and coordinate external training providers for on-site and off-site course delivery.
  • Facilitate induction programs for employees and contractors, including online pre-site inductions.
  • Manage and update training records and compliance documentation within Workday Learning (LMS).
  • Support Operators and Maintenance Technicians in advancing through training frameworks.

About you:
The Ideal candidate will be a Learning & Development / Training professional with experience in mining, resources, or industrial environments, holding a Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (TAE40116 or TAE40120). They will possess strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills, excellent written and verbal communication is essential, along with the ability to engage diverse audiences.

This role requires expertise in designing, developing, and delivering training content, as well as strong coordination and scheduling abilities. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and Learning Management Systems is essential.
