activIT systems is a steadily growing, sustainable, and operationally mature IT service provider headquartered in Perth WA, with a branch office in Devonport, Tasmania. We help our small and medium business clients become bigger, better, and more secure, by taking care of IT and cybersecurity for them. We’ve been around since 2004, have a long list of loyal clients throughout the nation, and a hugely passionate team.
This role is eligible for our nine day fortnight programme (eligible after 6 months tenure; more info on the News page of our website), which consists of full salary, alternate Mondays or Fridays off each fortnight, and no requirement to make up time anywhere.
We're recruiting because we're growing.
Our ideal candidate
Our ideal candidate is a thorough and considered problem solver. You love finding, designing, and delivering IT solutions to business problems, and communicate complex topics to clients in easy to understand ways. Ideally you currently work at another MSP or IT service provider, and you're looking for a new role because you want to:
- apply your technical aptitude and people skills to help businesses become better
- want to spend more time in the IT project space, and less on business-as-usual tasks
- regain your work/life balance, and be encouraged to knock off at knock off time
- be respected and appreciated for your efforts
- be challenged to grow personally and professionally
- get paid for overtime and be encouraged to take holidays
- not have to account for every minute of the day in the PSA
- be held accountable to realistic expectations with KPI's/OKR's
- have input on how things are done or could be done
- learn new tech, get certs, and grow as a person and engineer
- work where there is team structure, defined roles, and ownership of tasks
In our opinion, whilst skills and knowledge important, attitude and killer work ethic wins the day. New tech skills can be learnt.
Is this you?
You have a friendly disposition and thrive when helping and supporting others. You love technology and love how it makes things better, and you have a desire to help people. You're happy visiting clients, working from the office, or working from home, and take extra steps to make sure your work is of very high standard. You love building professional rapport with others.
You learn lessons from mistakes, and have a mindset of continual improvement across not only the clients you work with, but with your workplace as well. You're not afraid to suggest better ways to perform tasks, nor ask questions on topics you're not strong on.
The role
Within this role you’ll be working within our projects and consulting team, alongside senior management, to help identify and implement technology solutions that make our clients lives easier and more productive. Clients come to us for help to improve their businesses with technology, far beyond the every day BAU, looking for our consultation, advice, understanding of technology, and ability to deliver results. This is the core objective of the role.
The workload is a fairly even split between high level consulting, discovery, and project delivery. There is the occasional BAU task that our helpdesk team might escalate up - which you don't mind, because you're awesome at figuring out the problems, want to help the team, and share your knowledge with others.
Some of the workload is onsite, face to face work at client premises, whilst most of it is delivered remotely.
Whether your passion is networks, system admin, Microsoft 365, cloud, cybersecurity, or anything in between, we’d love to hear from you, and help you build on the skills you’re passionate about with our professional development programme.
Responsibilities include:
- Level 2.5+ to Level 3+ technical support and service for our clients; emails, calls, remote service, onsite service
- Provision of consultation, advice, solution design, execution of workplace improvement projects
- Network troubleshooting, installation and support of routers, access points, and switches
- Complex IT troubleshooting on issues escalated from helpdesk
- Administration and implementation of Microsoft 365, Intune, Entra, and other cloud services
- Configuring and installing printers, servers, switches, routers, network devices for clients
- Having your teammates backs by being reliable.
To be considered for this role, you will have:
- A great cover letter! We love a good story about how you found your IT passion, why you're looking for a role change, and what your aspirations are. It makes a big impact when we review candidates.
- Four or more years of experience in delivering IT service and support in a similar workplace, in a Level 2 or Level 3 role
- Demonstrated technical aptitude – you ‘get’ how technical things work
- Highly desirable CompTIA Network+ or Security+ certification or similar, or, equivalent experience
- Years of experience with Microsoft 365 platform implementation, configuration, and management (beyond add/remove users)
- Eligibility to work in Australia
- A Class C drivers license and your own reliable vehicle
- A state based or federal police clearance certificate (or can obtain one)
- Operate with common sense and can problem solve issues autonomously.
- A desire to deliver superb customer service and client satisfaction!
- Maturity to work unsupervised, and take initiative
- A professional demeanour and personality, but still be fun and involved with the team around you
- Super reliability, punctuality, and desire to be part of an awesome team!
