Team Leader - Customer Payments

NSW Government is seeking multiple Team Leaders for a 3 month contract to oversee teams responsible for managing grants that support individuals and communities affected by natural disasters.

Location: Work from Home (Must be located in NSW)

Start Date: ASAP

Contract Length: 3 months

Pay Rate: $62.66 per hour

Hours: 7 hours/day (8 AM - 5 PM), Mon - Fri (30 minute unpaid break)

Work Set up: Remote

The Team Leader will oversee a customer service team providing essential support to people and communities impacted by disasters and emergencies. This role demands strong leadership, excellent communication, and the ability to manage high volume workloads in a fast paced setting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and coordinate a team, ensuring efficient workflows and service targets are met.
  • Assess complex grant applications for eligibility and compliance.
  • Conduct detailed enquiries, investigate cases, and adhere to regulatory requirements.
  • Attend meetings with the Grants Manual Assessment Team and internal stakeholders.
  • Prepare and review reports, work instructions, and documentation.
  • Coach and train team members to enhance performance and build capability.
  • Support successful project delivery.
  • Communicate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Collect, compile, and analyse data to inform decision making.

Key Requirements

  • Proven leadership experience managing teams of 10+ people in a high volume, customer focused environment.
  • Exceptional communication skills and the ability to engage diverse stakeholders.
  • A customer first approach with empathy and problem solving skills.
  • Highly organised with the ability to multitask and meet deadlines.
  • Preferred Systems: Salesforce, Genesys
  • Must Haves: Clear communication, empathy, strong customer service skills
  • Experience in grants, rebates, or voucher administration is a plus.
  • Ability to work in an agile, fast paced environment, handling 200 300 applications per day.

  • Immediate start required - No leave during the 3 month contract period.
  • Pre-employment Checks: Police check, two reference checks
