The Market Grocer is one of largest grocery wholesalers servicing independent grocers and supermarkets in Australia.

We are an Australian owned company, headquartered at Homebush West, NSW.

Due to expansion of the business, there is a great opportunity for an enthusiastic Accountant to join our busy team. The role involves assisting the Finance Manager and other key Team members with Accounting, Administrative and potentially Payroll / HR tasks, with a responsible, mature approach.

Key Responsibilities:

• Prepare monthly financial statements and Board report
• Calculation and posting of Month End adjustments and accruals
• Process weekly payroll
• Produce annual budget and conduct monthly variance analysis
• Lead the annual audit process including coordinating annual stocktake
• Creating new customer accounts
• Raising of return credits
• Overdue debt follow-up and reconciliation
• Monthly fixed asset register and depreciation management
• Process monthly IAS, quarterly BAS and annual Tax return
• Preparation of quarterly superannuation
• Identify and lead process improvement projects
• Data entry and Ad Hoc projects

Primary Requirements

• 3+ years’ experience in accounting role
• Accounting degree, and/or studying to CPA
• Microsoft office experience and intermediate user of Excel desirable
• Experience in XERO, Quickbooks, and Microsoft Dynamics NAV are advantageous, but not essential
• Fast accurate data entry and attention to detail imperative
• Excellent references preferred
