About the role:
Based at our busy Bairnsdale Campus, an exciting opportunity exists for a suitably experienced Canteen Attendant to join our team in a casual capacity to assist with leave coverage and event catering.
The Canteen Attendant is responsible for preparing and serving hot and cold food and beverages to TAFE Gippsland Staff and Students, whilst maintaining a safe and hygienic workplace and following established food hygiene procedures and practices. The Canteen Attendant provides excellent customer service and promotes a strong customer focus.
Qualifications and experience:
- A thorough understanding of occupational health and safety and safe food handling practices
- Cookery and food preparation skills (desirable)
- Cash handling experience
- Excellent organisational and time management skills
- Ability to work as part of a cohesive team in a busy environment
- Ability to work independently under pressure and meet deadlines
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Willingness to learn with a can-do attitude
Mandatory requirements
- Current Victorian Working with Children Clearance
- Current Police Check (not older than 12 months old)
- Current Driver’s License (some travel between campuses is a requirement of the role)
