About the role

The Mount Gambier Netball Association Inc. is seeking a Canteen Manager to oversee the operation of our on-site canteen. This is a casual role that will involve managing all aspects of the canteen, from menu planning and food preparation to customer service and cash handling. The position is based in Mount Gambier, SA 5290, and is from April to September 2025 mainly on Saturdays.

What you'll be doing

• Manage the day-to-day operations of the canteen, including opening and closing procedures
• Prepare and serve a variety of food and beverages to customers
• Ensure high standards of food safety and hygiene are maintained
• Handle cash and maintain accurate financial records
• Order and restock supplies as needed
• Supervise and train any canteen staff or volunteers
• Provide excellent customer service to all canteen patrons

What we're looking for

• Previous experience in a similar canteen or food service role
• Strong organisational and time management skills
• Excellent customer service orientation
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Food safety and handling certification (or willingness to obtain)
• Cash handling and financial management skills
