About Us:

Blitz Industrial is a well-established fabrication and labour hire company in Gladstone, QLD 4680. We are currently seeking a dedicated and detail-oriented Accounts/Payroll Administrator to join our growing team. If you have a strong understanding of accounting and payroll processes and are looking for a rewarding role, we would love to hear from you!

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage end-to-end payroll processing ensuring compliance with legal and regulatory requirements.
  • Prepare and process accurate weekly payroll, including tax calculations, superannuation, and deductions using Xero Payroll.
  • Maintain and update employee records in the payroll system, including new hires, terminations, and changes to employment details.
  • Manage and approve timesheets from employees using our Time2U Timesheeting Application.
  • Prepare payroll reports, including leave balances, pay runs, and other necessary payroll-related data.
  • Process accounts payable and receivable transactions, including vendor payments, invoicing, and reconciliation.
  • Assist with month-end and year-end accounting procedures.
  • Respond to payroll-related queries from employees and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
  • Manage PAYG withholding, Superannuation, and other compliance requirements.
  • Liaise with external providers (super funds, ATO) as required.
  • Maintain accurate records and assist with audits as necessary.

Skills and Experience:

  • Proven experience in payroll administration, accounting, or a similar role.
  • Strong knowledge of Australian payroll legislation and tax compliance.
  • Experience with accounting and payroll software (e.g., Xero).
  • Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Strong organisational skills and the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Desirable:

  • Certificate IV in Accounting or Payroll (or equivalent).
  • Previous experience with Xero, Time2U or Simpro would be desirable.
